Naomi Cortes biography photo
Naomi has recently been seen as a force of nature in Polka Theatre’s THE SNOW QUEEN. She spent last summer touring two delightful Shakespearean comedies, AS YOU LIKE IT and THE MERRY WIVES OF WINDSOR. Before this she performed in CROSSINGS, a play by South Bank Show Award-winner Julie McNamara. Naomi performed a dizzying array of characters, from a frightening Wicked Witch to a dim-witted Prince, in Polka Theatre’s production THE JOLLY POSTMAN. She has appeared in THE TWITS, as the singing and dancing Mrs Mugglewump at Bolton Octagon and then recreated the role with Pilot Theatre. She also toured with Pilot in BLOODTIDE and has worked with Shared Experience in their award-winning AFTER MRS ROCHESTER. Naomi delighted audiences as the comedic Bird Who Has No Wings, for Theatre Centre’s HOW HIGH IS UP? and she sang in Zulu for Action Transport’s TSELANE'S SONG. She revealed mystical fortunes as Madame Tickle in BOING! and shared enchanting stories in UNDER YOUR HAT, both for Oily Cart Theatre. For the BBC she played the straight-talking Sergeant Teresa Singer in their popular children’s series CRISIS CONTROL and created an array of voices for their adaptation of Valerie Bloom’s SURPRISING JOY.
