Melody is touring in a new play for Forest Forge, FREE FOLK. She has recently been playing the title role in Ade Morris' new play BUBBLES at the Watermill, Newbury and on tour. Last year she performed at the British Museum as Yin and Meng in THE FIRST CHINESE EMPEROR, a production by Yellow Earth Theatre and then she recreated the role of Miriam in Pilot Theatre’s FUNGUS THE BOGEYMAN on tour, having played it in 2007 at London’s Artsdepot. Being Anglo-Japanese, Melody has played a great range of exotic roles, Baba Yaga in THE FIREBIRD at Bolton Octagon, the Fly in DINING ALONE for the Mu Lan Festival and a very inscrutable Ariel in THE TEMPEST last summer in the magnificent setting of Canterbury’s St. Augustine’s Abbey. She also created the roles of Geeta and Orange Juice in the only stage adaptation of Yann Martel’s LIFE OF PI which was produced at Bradford Alhambra by Twisting Yarns Theatre and then toured nationally.
