Catherine is currently working at Nottingham Playhouse in their Rep season of plays for young audiences. She’s enjoyed being a Little Mermaid in the Playhouse studio Christmas show, and in February will go to Norway to reprise the role of Sammy in ‘The Island’ as part of ‘Young Europe’ for The European Theatre Convention.
She trained in European Theatre Arts at Rose Bruford, where she also had the opportunity to study puppetry at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona, a skill that she’s utilized in many professional productions, including operating a life-sized puppet in a new adaptation of Chekhov’s ‘The Three Sisters’ last year for The Happiness Patrol. She’s an experienced physical theatre actress and deviser, and played multiple roles in productions of ‘Hansel and Gretel’ and ‘The Crane’ for Red Earth Theatre.After much hard work Catherine achieved her Level 3 British Sign Language last year, which she used whilst filming the integrated children’s television programme ‘Make, Shake and Jake’, in which she played the scatty but lovable Mel Make. She also has four years experience presenting ‘Jump Up’, Nick Jr’s outdoor roadshow, which played to around 20,000 people annually.
Catherine has an excellent mezzo soprano singing voice and a love for all styles of dance.
