At last Roy has a chance to perform in a real traditional panto after years of strange and diverse Yuletide extravaganzas. For example he played Quintus Arrias in BEN HUR, Argos in JASON & THE ARGONAUTS and reached a real pinnacle playing Bobby Charlton in WORLD CUP FINAL, 1966 all at London’s BAC. Then he went down into the Shunt Vaults beneath London Bridge Station for A DICKENS OF A CHRISTMAS. During the past quarter century Roy has toured over thousands of miles and played hundreds of characters working with the pioneering MEDIEVAL PLAYERS and with THIRD PARTY PRODUCTIONS. Among many Shakespearean performances are productions of COMEDY OF ERRORS (playing both Antipholus twins), THE WINTER’S TALE, HAMLET, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM and, most recently, MACBETH on tour for the National Theatre. Work for young audiences has included 100 MILLION FOOTSTEPS and THE WITCH’S KITCHEN both for Quicksilver Theatre. Other recent work has included GEORGE & THE DRAGON at the Lyric, Hammersmith and WINK THE OTHER EYE at the historic Wilton’s Music Hall. On TV Roy has been seen in THE NEW ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD, TIMEBUSTERS and as various incompetent bosses in commercials and sponsorship idents.
