David Redgrave

DAVID REDGRAVE biography photo
David has been playing Antigonus in A WINTER'S TALE in Rendlesham Forest this summer having earlier toured as a variety of East Anglians in RETURN TO AKENFIELD, an adaptation of Craig Taylor's fascinating book about modern life in rural Suffolk. This was David's third tour with Eastern Angles Theatre Company, having played Hangdog, a lifeboatman, in their very successful production, BEYOND THE BREAKERS and the father in DAYS OF PLENTY. This is very much David's home turf, as a native East Anglian, and he has performed many times at the Wolsey theatre in Ipswich including productions of MACBETH, THE MISER and MOTHER COURAGE. David is also a regular at the Gawsworth Open-Air Theatre Festival in Cheshire in productions of THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST, LADY WINDERMERE'S FAN, BLITHE SPIRIT,PRESENT LAUGHTER, HAY FEVER, DRACULA and SHERLOCK HOLMES, THE FINAL CASE in which he played the perpetually outwitted Inspector Lestrade. A regular in panto, David has been hissed and booed all over the country, most recently at Croydon where he found himself deputising as Captain Hook in PETER PAN for an indisposed Brian Blessed!
